(nl) A concrete cube, a glass box and reflections on the water surface are the fascinating three elements of the Langen Foundation of the architect Tadao Ando on the former rocket station in Neuss – situated only 30-minutes away from Essen. An absolute favorite place!
The permanent exhibition of the museum is shown in a building with a two-shell cover. In a glass mantle stands a smaller concrete building. The special exhibitions take place in two underground tracts, which are located at an angle of 45 degrees to the two-shell building.
Tadao Ando: „To create architecture is to express representative aspects of the real world – like nature, history, tradition and society – in a spatial structure, that is, in an abstract concept based on clear, transparent logic.“
