Series „A weekend in …“

Essen is located in Germany’s largest industrial region, the Ruhr area. In the former mining town, where the miners continued to produce coal until 1986, the industrial past can still be felt today. At the latest with the transformation of the industrial monument Zeche Zollverein into a vast art and cultural area, a new era was introduced for the image of the city.
